A new colour of paint can transform a piece of furniture so that it becomes a focal point in your home.
Your pieces of furniture are unique and present unique challenges. That’s cool! We love a challenge. We also have the knowledge and experience to determine which angles to spray at and to control the speed of the spray so that the piece is evenly and smoothly coated.
We have a variety of sprayers that can be used to paint furniture. We often prefer to use HVLP sprayers for furniture painting, especially for folding chairs, whereas we’ll use an airless sprayer for a dining room table, for example. Our choice is based on which technology will give the piece of furniture the smoothest, silkiest, most even finish.
Not quite sure which colour will bring out the character in your furniture or go best with your décor? We can help.
Our interior designer has years of experience helping people bring their vision to life. After consulting with you, she’ll provide you with options to choose from. We work closely with you and the designer to ensure that the options are practical from a painting standpoint.
If your furniture is within a certain size restriction, we’ll paint it in our spray booth. The booth has a specially designed ventilation system and racking units so it offers a highly controlled environment, allowing us to achieve a perfect finish with no disruption to your home.
For large or built-in pieces, we will create a temporary spray booth in your home. This allows us to get the most perfect finish possible without causing any damage to your property. Don’t worry—we’ll clean up after ourselves so it’s like we were never there.
If you have children that are going to be a bit hard on the furniture, we’ll use a paint that can stand up to a higher level of use. Your furniture will still look great but it will also be more durable.
If you want antiquing or distressing, we can help! Both techniques are used to simulate age, and can give your furniture a distinctive appearance. For antiquing, we use layers of paint and stain to achieve what’s called a grunge patina. To distress furniture, we strategically remove the finish to simulate wear and tear.
We use various glazing methods to achieve the different types of antique affects. Some by spray, some by wipe, some by brush.
We can also paint or apply a faux finish to your existing hardware if you like the style but want to update the look.
We’ll take on virtually any furniture painting project in Calgary, no matter how challenging it might be! The types of furniture we handle include, but are definitely not limited to:

We recently had some built-in shelving units sprayed by A Burst of Colour and could not have been more happy with the final product (goodbye cream, hello blue!). The workmanship was fantastic, as were all the guys that came and worked in our home. They got the job done on time and were very accommodating and respectful. Highly recommend for any of your painting needs! — Jill Dreger
